LG's webOS TVs have a built-in web browser. DisplayValet uses it to play your slideshow full screen, pictures and video, with nothing plugged into the TV.
What you need
- An LG webOS TV on your network (tested on the LG 32LM620, 2019, webOS 4.5).
- A Windows computer that stays on, on the same network, running DisplayValet.
Setup
- Turn the TV on, press Find displays in DisplayValet, and add the LG.
- Press Connect on its card, then Allow on the TV (once).
- On the TV: Settings → General → Mobile TV On → Turn on via Wi-Fi: On (so DisplayValet can turn it on).
- Turn off the TV's automatic power-off (Eco settings), or it switches itself off after a few hours.
What DisplayValet handles for you
- Opens the slideshow full screen and moves the pointer out of sight.
- Keeps the TV's own screensaver from covering the slideshow.
- If someone uses the TV for Netflix or TV, brings the slideshow back after a time you choose.
- Turns the TV on and off on a weekly schedule.
